This website is run by Can Ozturk, trading as Can Ozturk Photography, based in Devon, United Kingdom. This page explains what personal information the site collects, why, and what your rights are under UK GDPR.

What this site collects

The only information collected from you is what you choose to type into the enquiry form: your name, your email address, and the details of your enquiry (date, venue, and message). Your IP address and browser are not recorded. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics cookies and no third-party marketing scripts on this site.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address as part of serving those files. No other third-party requests are made from these pages.

Why it is collected

Solely to answer your enquiry and, if you go on to book, to organise your photography. The lawful basis is legitimate interest (responding to someone who has contacted a business) and, once you book, performance of a contract.

Who else sees it

When you send the form, your enquiry is stored in a database so that I can keep track of it and reply. That database is run by Cloudflare on my behalf, hosted in Western Europe, and only I can read it. A copy is also emailed to me so I see it promptly; both Cloudflare and my email provider act as processors and do not use your information for their own purposes.

Nothing you send is shared with anyone else, and it is never used for marketing.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted once they are clearly no longer relevant. Records relating to a booking are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting rules require. You can ask for yours to be deleted at any point and it will be, in full.

Your photographs

Copyright in the photographs remains with the photographer. Images are only used publicly — on this website or on social media — where the people in them have agreed to it. If you would like an image of you removed, email me and it will be taken down.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Email bookings@canozturkphotography.com and it will be dealt with. If you are not happy with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
